Activities Director: The Arbor at Avamere Court

We are looking for an experienced Activities Director to help us build a well-rounded, socially engaging, and therapeutic life enrichment program. This would be a full-time position starting at the end of September, and could include weekend hours.
Responsibilities Include:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department to assure that an ongoing program of activities is designed to meet the interests and wellbeing of each resident.
Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members.
Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters.
Arrange and oversee volunteer group.
Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff.
Make routine visits to residents.
Plan, prepare and operate under the Activities budget.
Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Qualifications and Skillsets:
High School Diploma or equivalent. _Additional education preferred._
Must have a minimum two years of experience in a social or recreation program, or similar experience working in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with Memory Care residents.
Must be highly organized, energetic, motivated and creative.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have experience with various software programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be able to manage multiple events and programs and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi-cultural environment.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
